PMI LabDiet
LabDiet®'s heritage of providing small animal nutritional excellence and research has set the industry standards for over 100 years. Since 1917, when PMI® established its first experimental laboratory, LabDiet® formulas have set the industry standard for nutrition in animal diet research and development. The first LabDiet® product was introduced in 1942 along with their Constant Nutrition® philosophy. The fundamental principle of Constant Nutrition® in LabDiet® products remains uniform…as it's been since their introduction to the research community. PMI LabDiet®
RESEARCH
At PMI®, nutritionists and research analysts process more than 85,000 samples and complete more than 250,000 assays each year at PMI® facilities in St. Louis and at the PMI® Research Center near Gray Summit, Missouri. The PMI® research team retains our reputation by making sure every product has been properly formulated and researched for performance in collaborative studies and in our own laboratories…long before you buy it.
MANUFACTURING
The quality of LabDiet® products is unmatched. They set the standard in November 1996 when their production facility in Richmond, Indiana became the first ISO 9002 Certified production facility in the USA. As a continued commitment to the laboratory animal business, the PMI® Richmond facilities have taken the lead in the Laboratory Animal Diet industry to become the first U.S. animal feed manufacturing plant to become ISO 9001:2000. Antibiotics and synthetic estrogens are STRICTLY PROHIBITED in the LabDiet® plant.
PMI® maintains tight controls throughout the manufacturing process on all LabDiet® products. They carefully and thoroughly screen every supplier before adding them to our authorized supplier list. Then they monitor their performance to ensure that their quality standards are maintained. All ingredient protocols are part of ISO 9001:2000 Certification documentation. All suppliers and shipments are carefully monitored. Each shipment is inspected for possible contaminants, and the protein and fiber content of key ingredients are analyzed and other tests verify individual ingredients.
